A shocking video has emerged showing the moment American activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while addressing a packed audience at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, near Salt Lake City. 

The now viral footage captures Kirk, a close ally of President Donald Trump, as he pauses when asked about gun violence, before a bullet struck his neck. 

Blood gushed as panicked attendees scramble for safety.

According to Guardian, Kirk was rushed to Timpanogos Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. 

Officials confirmed the shooting was a “targeted attack” carried out from the rooftop of a nearby building.

The UVU campus was immediately placed under lockdown, with police blocking every entrance. 

Outside the hospital, where Kirk’s death was confirmed, mourners gathered for candlelit vigils, draping American flags across signs and laying handmade tributes that read “Peacemakers wanted” and “We love you Charlie Kirk.”

FBI Director Kash Patel revealed that one suspect had initially been detained but was later released after questioning. 

“Our investigation continues, and we will continue to release information in the interest of transparency,” Patel said.

Tributes have poured in across the political divide. 

President Trump expressed outrage and grief, calling the assassination a “dark moment for America.” 

He said: “Charlie inspired millions, and tonight all who knew him and loved him are united in shock and horror.”
