Junior Stars on Tuesday booked a final showdown with Uganda after edging out neighbours Tanzania 4-3 in a post-match shootouts following a barren draw at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo in Kisumu.
Kenya needed Ibrahim Wanzala's penalty heroics to breeze past the visitors after failing to find a breakthrough in the 120 minutes scintillating semi-final affair.
MOFA Academy's Syphas Owuor converted the last spot kick to send the hosts into the much anticipated final after Wanzala saved Tanzania's last spot kick.
Collins Ochieng, Amos Wanjala, Humphrey Aroko and Syphas Owuor all converted their penalties as main man Stanley Wilson saw his penalty kick saved by Anthony Mpemba.
The Tanzanian shot stopper had a brilliant afternoon after pulling off a brilliant save so deny Stanley Wilson a goal in the second half, a goal that would have sealed Kenya's place without going into the extra time.
The tightly contested match saw both teams struggle to create inroads in the opposition defence although Tanzania had a busy afternoon trying to cut of Kenya's attacks marshalled by Aroko and Tyron Kariuki.
Both teams also missed to bury their chances but it was Kenya who had the last laugh after the post-match shootouts.
Kenya will now jostle for the CECAFA U-18 title with Uganda who narrowly stunned Rwanda 1-0 on Friday at the same venue.
