Mp Millie Odhiambo Vows to Deal with Robert Alai for Attacking Winnie Odinga

Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has issued a scathing public rebuttal aimed at Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai.

The heated exchange follows a series of online posts by Mr Alai targeting Winnie Odinga, the daughter of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Raila Odinga.

The confrontation erupted during the recent ODM @20 celebrations held in Mombasa.

The Initial Exchange: Political Inexperience

The conflict began when Robert Alai published a detailed attack on Winnie Odinga via a Facebook post.

Mr Alai argued that Ms Odinga “doesn’t have the political experience to give anyone direction in ODM”. He further stated that she is not an official within the party.

Mr Alai’s key grievance stemmed from claims that Winnie Odinga had insulted female ODM leaders.

"Your claim to the throne is because of the bloodline and not because of any unique thing you have done. Shameful to see you insult fellow women leaders".

Mr Alai insisted that Ms Odinga’s claim to leadership influence was solely based on her "bloodline".

Odhiambo Vows to Deal with Alai ‘Head On’

Millie Odhiambo launched a robust defense of Winnie Odinga, explicitly warning Mr Alai. She vowed to deal with him "head on".

The MP accused the aggressor of habitually harassing women. She stressed that Ms Odinga should be protected, referring to her as “the heart of Baba”.

Ms Odhiambo also introduced a cultural dimension to her defence. She stated that it is culturally wrong to attack someone who is "still mourning".

"I’d like to send a warning. I’ve seen someone attacking Winnie Odinga. As a woman defender, I want to say this, whether it’s Alai or wherever the name is, Nimeona, you like harassing women, but where Millie Odhiambo is, we will deal with you head-on,” she said.

Alai Defends His Position and Counters Wanga Attack

Mr Alai swiftly responded to Millie Odhiambo’s intervention, challenging her authority and the substance of her defence.

In a counter-post on Facebook, Mr Alai told Ms Odhiambo directly"Tafuta kazi ingine" (Look for another job).

He then shifted focus back to Winnie Odinga’s initial alleged accusations. Mr Alai reiterated that Ms Odinga claimed party leadership was "sleeping with Ruto in bedrooms to sell the party".

He argued that Winnie Odinga was specifically attacking Governor Gladys Wanga. Mr Alai identified Governor Wanga as "the only woman at the top leadership of the party".

Mr Alai expressed surprise that Winnie Odinga would attack a fellow woman, only to then “suddenly run to your gender” when responded to.
