A family in Kayole is seeking justice for their kin who was murdered in cold blood, allegedly by her boyfriend.
The 40-year-old woman, identified as Sharon Cate, was brutally killed in front of her 11-year-old son, allegedly by her partner, following a domestic quarrel.
The suspect, only identified as Sammy, fled the scene when the minor ran out to seek help. Police say they have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
Citizen TV visited the family, which is still in shock over the gruesome murder and how the boy was forced to watch as his mother’s life was cut short at the hands of a man she had lived with for two years.
“Alikuwa amedungwa visu mingi sana. Zaidi ya kumi kwa kichwa na uchungu ni mwenye ali-confirm ni mtoto wake,” said Ann Wambui, a sister to the deceased
A friend to the deceased, Esther Wambui, added; “Hicho kitendo kiliniguza sana na niliipata through social media. Ukikosana na boyfriend ama girlfriend heri utoke tu.”
“Alikufa kifo cha unyama, alidungwa visu mingi sana. Umemsimamishia maisha yake tu, amekufa kifo haikuwa akufe. Umemuua akiwa sawa, hata hakuwa mgonjwa,” lamented another sister to the deceased, Sarah Wambui.

According to the police, the suspect used a kitchen knife to stab the woman several times on the head.
The suspect is still on the run, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
“Wakati aliingia kulikuwa na ugomvi na vita ikaingia. Akachukua kisu akaua msichana. Uchunguzi unaendelea na DCI. Progress report tunangoja. Mshukiwa is still on the run and the police are doing what's possible to arrest him,” Kayole OCPD John Awuoth noted.
Meanwhile, the family is calling for swift justice as they begin the painful journey of mourning and healing.
