
Police officer dies after his car was swept away by floods

A police officer died in Matungulu, Machakos County after his car was swept away by floods in River Kware on Wednesday afternoon.
Members of the public saw the officer’s car submerged in the river at around 4 p.m. and reported to the police, who retrieved Inspector Cyprian Kasili’s body from his car.
Kasili was the base commander for Ruai.
“It was established that he was driving back to his home in Lowland Estate within the Kware area,” read a police report.
The officer’s body was taken to Patjud Furenal Home awaiting autopsy while efforts to retrieve the car from the river went on into Thursday morning.
