Tanzanian music star Alikiba has addressed claims made by fellow artist Juma Jux regarding his absence from Jux’s much-publicised wedding—a star-studded affair attended by hundreds of guests from across the continent, including several Kenyan celebrities.
In a recent interview, Juma Jux explained why notable names such as Alikiba and Harmonize were missing from his guest list, revealing that the decision was based on strained communication rather than any personal animosity.
Speaking on Wasafi FM, Jux clarified that the absence of certain artists stemmed from a lack of regular interaction.
“As for maybe Ali and Harmo, those are people I don’t talk to very often, but there’s no bad blood. I think as a team, the leaders made certain decisions—that happens sometimes. My close friends, the ones I speak to every day, were there,” he said.

In response, Alikiba downplayed any suggestion of hostility, stating that invitations are a matter of personal choice and that he harbours no grudges.
“Honestly, I don’t know anything about that. If he said so, it was entirely his decision whether or not to invite me,” Alikiba said.
He went on to explain that he does not consider himself part of Jux’s close circle. “I’m not in his circle, and I don’t really vibe with them like that—we just don’t align in that way.”
However, the award-winning singer was quick to make it clear that the lack of communication does not signal any underlying conflict.
“Lakini vile vile, kutopiga story sijui maana tulipiga story naye nikiwa Zanzibar—lakini sio kwamba kuna shida,” he added, meaning, “Even though we don’t talk regularly, we did have a chat when I was in Zanzibar—there’s no issue.”
Juma Jux’s wedding was a grand celebration attended by high-profile guests from across Africa. Among those present were Kenyan celebrity couple Bahati and Diana Marua, along with media personalities Mzazi Willy Tuva and Claudia Naisabwa, the latter of whom also served as one of the event’s hosts.

Earlier, Jux had wowed fans with a soulful live performance during a glamorous pre-wedding ceremony held in Karen, Nairobi, on Saturday, 21 June.
The exclusive event was graced by Kenya’s President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto, adding a touch of political prominence to the romantic celebration.
The performance also gave Juma Jux a rare opportunity to meet and interact with President Ruto—a moment that further elevated the significance of the occasion.
