Kenyan-born content creator and chess champion Elsa Majimbo has stated that the partner one marries can determine a person’s happiness or misery.

In a simple statement shared on her X account on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the controversial content creator’s perspective suggested that marrying the right partner can lead to a fulfilling and joyful life, while choosing poorly may result in stress, conflict, and prolonged misery.

“The person you marry determines your misery or happiness,” Majimbo said.

This comes just days after she declared that she plans to remain child-free for life.

Majimbo’s remarks come 3 years after she introduced her Caucasian boyfriend to her online community in 2022. In cosy photos and videos shared across her official social media pages, Elsa poured her heart out to the man, expressing how much joy he had brought into her life.

“To my darling love…thank you for bringing me so much happiness, love, joy. Thank you for showing me what love looks like,” Elsa captioned one of the posts. She continued, “Thank you for doing my hair and playing chess with me and buying me things (my favourite). I love you so.” In one video, the young man, sporting a well-trimmed beard, was seen helping Elsa style her hair in their apartment.

However, in 2024, Elsa confirmed that she and her lover, a DJ named Hakeem, had parted ways. Since then, she has remained private about her love life.

She revealed that their breakup was due to a lack of trust from her partner following an incident in Miami.

“I flew to Miami because I was speaking at a panel conference. The first day I rested, the second day I was to speak, it came time to have my mic put up. I had a strapless dress so we had to find a solution,” she explained.

Elsa described how a technician suggested they mic her using her underwear.

“We go to a room and there I was thinking that he would leave me and let me mic myself up, but he lifted my dress and put the mic on me,” she said.

Elsa then called her boyfriend, hoping he would support her and be upset at the incident.

“After the panel was done, I was angry. I called my boyfriend and the first thing he said was ‘maybe he felt you were flirting with him’.”

Feeling betrayed, Elsa ended the relationship.

“I told him I would hang up on him, and told him he would never see me, smell me nor hear from me again. True to my word he has never seen me again,” she said.
