
Kiambu: Police officers injured during attempt to arrest rider transporting chang'aa

Two police officers sustained injuries while attempting to arrest a suspect believed to have been transporting Chang’aa in Juja, Kiambu.
The two police officers from Kibii Police Station were on patrol when they received intelligence report regarding the suspect.
According to the police, the suspect was transporting the illicit brew using a motorbike, headed towards the general direction of Gatundu Road.
The officers intercepted the motorbike near Kibii Primary School, and arrested the suspect.
"The situation, however, turned violent when the rider resisted arrested,” stated the police.
It is reported that matters came to ahead after more than 20 motorbike riders from Kimunyu Trading Center arrived at the scene – in an attempt to free the suspect.
The injured police officers were rushed to Impact Hospital in Murram Center for treatment.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
