Police officers in Narok have detained a suspected drug peddler, and impounded 28 kilograms of bhang, reports say.
According to Area Sub-County Police Commander John Momanyi, the police received intelligence at 4 a.m. regarding the existence of a bhang store run by a well-known drug dealer.
He claimed that although the accomplice escaped the police dragnet, one suspect was apprehended by the authorities.
The police boss said a manhunt on the runaway female suspect is underway.
Momanyi also stated that the suspect was on police radar because she had an existing police case.
The police chief urged those in the judiciary not to issue bonds to those arrested more than twice, citing the female suspect who managed to escape two weeks ago after being arrested with five bags of bang and paying a bond of one million, and urging the court not to release her if arrested again.
