President William Ruto is looking for a rich man who mocked and cursed the Hustler Fund in his face.
Speaking in Nairobi on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Ruto, without mentioning names, told Kenyans he wants to make the man feel that he was wrong in his prediction on the fund.
“One very rich person, I do not want to mention their name told me that this will be unsustainable, it will not work. I am looking for him to inform him that it is working because this is now three years down the road, and we are making strides in the right direction,” Ruto said.
Ruto revealed how Kenyans are now benefiting from the fund. Not only are credit ratings being restored, but people are borrowing on a daily basis.
“Credit limits are also increasing, and more Kenyans are gaining easy access to financing,” he added.
On his Facebook account, Ruto has said that the government is supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises by expanding access to affordable credit and financing.
“The Hustler Fund, for example, has disbursed over Ksh80B to 26.7 million people since 2022, offering dignified credit to those previously excluded from formal finance,” he noted.
Through the NYOTA programme, 110,000 young entrepreneurs are receiving training, mentorship, and start-up grants to drive innovation and job creation.

The president has also highlighted investments in value addition and agro-processing through County Aggregation and Industrial Parks in all 47 counties, as well as special economic zones to attract investment and boost industrialisation.
SMEs driving the economy
Addressing the 25th East African Community Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Trade Fair at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi County, Ruto emphasised the importance of SMEs.
“We recognise that the sector drives the economy, creates jobs, and builds wealth for our people,” he said.
The president also welcomed the International Trade Organisation’s decision to set up its regional hub in Nairobi, affirming Kenya’s leadership in trade and investment.
Ruto’s message underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that the Hustler Fund and related programmes continue to empower ordinary Kenyans and strengthen the nation’s economic foundations.
