His son, Duncan Kinuthia, took over the leadership role and served as the Managing Director of Quick Mart Ltd.
However, in 2019, the retailer merged with Tumaini Self-Service Limited to form the Quickmart brand.
Current Ownership of QuickMart
Currently, Quickmart is owned by Adenia Partners of Mauritius, through their owned Kenyan subsidiary company, Sokoni Retail Kenya.
The Adenia Partners found the supermarket already operating a chain of 11 supermarkets in Kenya, with nine stores that are located in Nairobi and another two stores in the town of Nakuru.
QuickMart and Tumaini currently have a combined to have 25 stores, making the merged entity the third largest retailer in Kenya by store network.
However, Adenia Partners is the majority owner of the combined company.
Together with the founders of Quick Mart, Adenia has appointed a board of management to lead the integration process between the two organizations by providing leadership and governance.
Additionally, Peter Kang’iri joined Quickmart in 2019 and is the CEO of Quickmart, and Duncan Kinuthia is still the managing director of the Supermarket.
