Lydia Wanjiru: Men Pretend to Dislike The Same Women They Cheat With

Content creator Lydia Wanjiru has warned women to be more alert in their relationships, claiming that some men use reverse psychology to hide their cheating behaviour.

She said on Instagram on Wednesday, October 8, that many women are deceived by the way their partners talk about certain women, not realising it is a trick meant to lower their guard.

According to Wanjiru, some men pretend to dislike certain women, only to later cheat with them. She explained that a man may openly criticise or distance himself from a woman he is secretly interested in, just to make his partner believe there is nothing between them.

“Some of these men play reverse psychology with us,” Wanjiru said. “You think your husband whom you have a business with doesn’t like your business, lady mwenye mumeandika. Every time mkiwa naye anasema, mimi sipendi huyo msichana, so that when he cheats on you with her, you won’t see it coming.”

She added that the same applies to men who complain about their partners’ friends, only to later get involved with them. “Even how your man or boyfriend talks about your friend, mimi sipendi huyo msichana… kidogo kidogo, he cheats on you with her,” she said.

Warns women to stay alert

Wanjiru said this kind of behaviour is a form of manipulation meant to cover up a man’s true intentions. By pretending to dislike a woman, she said, the man ensures his partner never suspects him of getting too close to that person. “It is reverse psychology for you not to see his real intentions,” she explained.

She noted that many women fall into this trap because they take their partner’s words at face value without reading between the lines. According to her, when a man constantly insists that he dislikes a certain woman, yet keeps mentioning her, it could be a sign that something is going on.

Wanjiru concluded by advising women to stay alert and observe patterns in how their partners behave and speak about other women. “Whenever unawaona pamoja atakwambia, ‘you know me, I don’t like this girl, it was just business’… mmmhm? yup! That is the whole conclusion, wewe ndio unachezwa. So, stay alert,” she said.
