An autopsy report has revealed that Ohangla Dancer Sheila Odoyo popularly known as Sheila Wegesha died due to excessive loss of blood.
Pathologist Dr Michieka Michieka who conducted the postmortem on the body of Wegesha gave his findings as to the cause of death being excessive bleeding due to sharp force trauma to the neck.
Wegesha was found dead in her Athi River home in Machakos County on Thursday, with deep cut wounds on her throat.
Samples were also taken for DNA and toxicology analysis.
Detectives are probing the gruesome murder, with the main suspect, her husband Jackson Bamboo on the run.
The lifeless body of the 38-year-old was found lying in a pool of blood with her throat having deep cuts on her matrimonial bed in Hill View Estate on Friday.
Signs of struggle in the bedroom could be seen, but neither her children nor her neighbours heard any commotion.
The vehicle used by the suspect when he left his house, a Mitsubishi Outlander, was discovered abandoned around the Kencom area within the Nairobi CBD.
Police believe that the suspect may have switched vehicles before disappearing. His last signal was traced to Narok.
The motive of the murder remains unknown, with detectives probing the case following leads of a troubled marriage marred with suspected cases of infidelities.
The body of the deceased was taken to Shalom Community Hospital morgue before it was transferred by family on Friday to Chiromo morgue awaiting autopsy.
