Young politician, Morara Kebaso has revealed that he has no ill will towards former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua while revealing that despite their political differences, there are several lessons he learned from the DCP leader.
Speaking on the Kogi’s Corner podcast, Kebaso recalled his visit to Gachagua’s home and revealed that during their meeting which lasted for about three hours, he learned a lot of lessons.
The Inject party leader explained that Gachagua gave him advice on how to thrive in the murky political scene, especially on the issue of alcohol, food consumption, and also relationships with women.
“When I met Gachagua, we sat for several hours, probably 3 hours and there are some positive things I left with from that meeting. He told me, ‘Young man, if you’ve decided to join politics, eat only at home where your wife has cooked for you, in hotels, just drink water only’. He insisted on me eating at home with my family, food only prepared by my wife,” Kebaso recalled.
“The other thing he also told me most upcoming politicians vanish prematurely because of alcohol and women. He told me, ‘if you’re using alcohol, consume at very low quantities, but if you don’t use, never dare start’,” Kebaso added.

On the issue of mingling with women, Kebaso said Gachagua advised him against it, alleging that most men are brought down easily with such setups.
“He told me on the issue of women, I should be very careful because it can be a set-up. ‘You’ll be set up with a woman who maybe is a NIS officer and at the end of the day people find you on the bed dead’. That’s some of the good advice he gave me about life that any youth can pick and implement,” Kebaso said.
Kebaso, however, admitted that it was not the first time he had received such advice about life, but hearing it from Gachagua was even more refreshing, as he is someone who has been in politics for a while and much of what he advised him was probably things he had witnessed.

Kebaso said that even from Kalonzo, he learned a lot, saying that he often does not deter himself from learning from them despite differing with some of the leaders regarding their ideologies.
“There’s always something to learn from these leaders even if sometimes I’m hard on them to give the youth time to work for Kenyans. There’s some experience and knowledge they have about here and there. So when people attack me with pictures of me with Kalonzo or Gachagua, I absolutely don’t feel ashamed. I’m very happy that I sat with them and never left empty,” Kebaso concluded.
