Media personality and reggae MC Talia Oyando has opened up about her ongoing weight loss journey, revealing that she has been using medically supervised semaglutide shots as part of her transformation.
After debuting her new look in a series of photos shared on Instagram, fans flooded her comments with mixed reactions — some praising her new figure, while others speculated about the method behind her transformation.
Talia, who has been open about her struggles with weight and a long-term knee injury, explained that her decision was not driven by vanity but by a medical necessity.
She revealed that doctors had advised her to reduce weight to avoid surgery and manage her condition safely.
“Having a busted knee also doesn’t help, and to avoid surgery, I need to lose weight, get on physiotherapy, keep my nutrition, and stay focused,” she previously shared.
Speaking about her new treatment plan, the media personality clarified that semaglutide was not a cosmetic shortcut but part of a carefully supervised health journey.
“This is more than just a treatment; it’s the beginning of a transformation. Semaglutide isn’t a quick fix; it’s a medically supervised tool that curbs appetite, balances blood sugar, and supports sustainable weight loss,” she said.

Kenyans React to Talia’s Transformation
After unveiling her slimmer look, fans expressed a mixture of admiration and curiosity. Some praised her discipline and courage for prioritising her health, while others urged caution regarding medical weight-loss solutions.
One user commented, “Don’t trust all wellness clinics. Many are there for money and money alone,” while another added, “Am I the only one who thinks she still looks good after cutting weight? Kenyans will talk no matter what.” Others congratulated her, saying, “You look amazing — well done for taking care of yourself.”
Other Kenyan Celebrities Using Ozempic
Talia joins a growing list of Kenyan celebrities who have openly discussed using Ozempic (semaglutide) to manage their weight.

Pritty Vishy has spoken candidly about her own experience, saying she lost more than 20 kilogrammes after incorporating Ozempic alongside her gym sessions.
She described the journey as tough but rewarding, adding that she initially faced side effects like nausea and fatigue before adjusting to the treatment.
Content creator Kelvin Kinuthia also recently shared his journey, revealing that he had started taking Ozempic injections to support his health goals after struggling to maintain consistency through diet and exercise alone.

She documented her journey on social media, showing visible progress over time and encouraging fans to stay patient and disciplined.
Nimo Gachuiri, wife to musician Mr Seed, is another celebrity who recently opened up about using Ozempic.
She stated that her decision was inspired by a desire to maintain her wellbeing and confidence as she continues balancing motherhood, work, and personal fitness goals.
