United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate in the Malava parliamentary race, David Ndakwa, has earned the support of Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula.
The ruling party made the confirmation through its official X page on Monday, November 11, 2025, during a meeting at the constituency.
According to the party, Savula, who is the deputy leader of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), marks a significant realignment in Kakamega politics.
“In a major political shift, Kakamega County Deputy Governor Hon. Ayub Savula, who also serves as the Deputy Party Leader of DAP-K, has officially endorsed Hon. David Ndakwa for the Malava Constituency seat.
This endorsement marks a significant realignment in Kakamega politics, as leaders rally behind Ndakwa’s unifying and development-focused agenda. The political tide in Malava is changing — the movement is unstoppable,” the UDA statement read.
Intrigues
Savula’s endorsement adds to the intrigue of a political contest that has witnessed huge political jostling and the defying of party lines ahead of the contest on November 27, 2025.
His affirmation of support comes days after his party’s candidate, Seth Panyako, earned yet another endorsement from Joab Burudi Manyasi of the Democratic National Alliance (DNA), who dropped out of the race.
Only a couple of days ago, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, Savual had come out and elected to align himself with his party, the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K), in support of its candidate, Panyako.
The Kenya National Union of Nurses (KNUN) official enjoys the backing of top political figures, including the United Opposition Brigade, Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, and Senate Whip Boni Khalwalwe.

The entire united opposition endorsed Seth Panyako’s candidature on Monday, November 3, 2025, and vowed to storm the constituency and other areas where by-elections are being held.
Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has also thrown his weight behind Seth Panyako. Other leaders from the western region, the whole United Opposition, is backing Seth Panyako for the race.
