Lilian Ng'ang'a Encourages People To Embrace Solitude

Lillian Ng’ang’a has encouraged people to embrace spending time alone, saying it is one of the strongest ways to understand oneself and find peace.

She shared a photo on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, that described solitude as a “superpower,” noting that many people struggle to be by themselves because they fear their own thoughts.

The message on the photo stated, “Being comfortable alone is a superpower. Eating alone. Movies alone. Travel alone. Most people need constant company. They’re afraid of their own thoughts.

But solitude is where you meet yourself. Where clarity lives. Where peace exists. If you can’t be alone, you’ll accept anyone. Master solitude. Then choose company.”

The message highlighted the importance of choosing a company from a place of strength, not loneliness. It said that solitude helps someone understand who they really are, instead of depending on others for comfort or direction. It also pointed out that when a person does not know how to be alone, they may end up accepting anyone simply to avoid loneliness.

Lillian Ng’ang’a agreed with the message shared in the photo and added her own caption saying, “As a master of this, I highly recommend! You are your own best company.”

Her comment showed support for the idea of spending time alone and learning to enjoy simple activities without relying on others. She pointed out that being comfortable alone is something she has practised, and she believes it helps people grow and make better choices.

Ng’ang’a also noted that enjoying one’s own company is a healthy habit that allows someone to find clarity and peace. She highlighted that people can benefit from learning how to eat alone, watch movies alone, and even travel alone, because these activities help build confidence and independence.

Her message encouraged people not to fear solitude but to use it as a chance to meet themselves and understand their thoughts. She supported the idea that once someone masters being alone, they can choose relationships from a place of strength.
